When I do wardrobe consultations (on-line and at a client’s home), I encourage them to really evaluate what’s in their wardrobe. How do the contents of their wardrobe relate to their current lifestyle? What are their habits, what are they actually wearing, and how do they care for their clothes?

I did a lot of travelling as part of my job as a clothing buyer and I always tried to pack light so I didn’t need to check my luggage into the hold. Most women return from holiday with clothes they haven’t worn, and with airlines today charging more and more for checked-in luggage, learning to pack light is a valuable skill. And just think of the time you will save when you arrive at your destination with hand luggage only.
This season I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect animal-print dress. It’s fair to say I was a late adopter of animal print; I purchased my first item in my late forties and now own several in various permutations. I love wearing them – just not all at once!

It became known as the Breton shirt, named after the sailors from Brittany who wore it and increased its popularity throughout the latter half of the nineteenth century.
Oh boy, oh boy, am I excited that it’s March and Spring is finally here! Seeing beautiful seasonal flowers spring into action gives me hope for a brighter and more colourful year. Roll on 8 March, when my teens will be back at school after three months at home.
