The personal shopping season for Spring 2022 is well under way and I’m busy helping clients plug their wardrobe gaps. Lovely spring newness is trickling into stores and by the middle of February shelves and rails will be overflowing with fresh colour and style trends.
When I do wardrobe consultations (on-line and at a client’s home), I encourage them to really evaluate what’s in their wardrobe. How do the contents of their wardrobe relate to their current lifestyle? What are their habits, what are they actually wearing, and how do they care for their clothes?
These Uniqlo gilets/vests can be worn over jumpers, T shirts, tops or blouses. Or under coats and jackets as another lightweight layer to trap warmth and keep you toasty.
There was a time when I would never recommend Boden to my clients, as their distinct prints were so recognisably Boden and I felt they didn’t have longevity. I did a lot of travelling as part of my job as a clothing buyer and I always tried to pack light so I didn’t need to check my luggage into the hold. Most women return from holiday with clothes they haven’t worn, and with airlines today charging more and more for checked-in luggage, learning to pack light is a valuable skill. And just think of the time you will save when you arrive at your destination with hand luggage only.
This season I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect animal-print dress. It’s fair to say I was a late adopter of animal print; I purchased my first item in my late forties and now own several in various permutations. I love wearing them – just not all at once!
It’s a look and a trend that’s easy to get wrong … and we don’t want to give animal print a bad reputation (think pub landlady Pat Butcher or Kat Slater).
