NAVY BLAZERS

A navy blazer is a timeless classic and some women prefer navy to black as a staple item for their wardrobe. My advice would be to size up if you’d like to wear your blazer more or less all year round. I usually take a UK size 8 on top, but my blazers are size UK 10 so I can comfortably wear a sweat catcher, shirt and lightweight knit underneath in spring and autumn. When I peel off the layers in early summer, the blazer doesn’t look too oversized with a simple T-shirt underneath. All these jackets are true to size, I’ve tried them on for you! A blazer takes your outfit from casual to smart casual, so you can ditch the cardigan and elevate your style. If it’s still a bit nippy, add more layers underneath or throw over a gilet or a mac/trench coat. Here’s the link to the one I’m wearing in the photo above and on my reel which is reduced to £85 but is almost sold out! Sorry, you’ve got to be quick!: BUY HERE

I popped some of my favourites below that are all under the ‘good’ £100 price bracket from reputable British brands.

GOOD PRICE POINT

  1. This John Lewis own brand jacket is a billy bargain, I have this one and whilst it’s a viscose blend, the 4% elastane makes it super comfy because it’s so stretchy as it’s a knitted smart blazer. BUY HERE

2. This unstructured narrow lapel navy blazer is great for fuller busts or apple-shaped ladies as it doesn’t add bulk and great value. It’s made from recycled polyester and although it says ‘dry clean’ it can easily be washed on a very low temperature on a delicate washing machine cycle: BUY HERE

3. I’ve bought countless Whistles navy blazers for clients. Great for petites in terms of length in the body of the jacket but you still might need to get the sleeves shortened.

Great value at just over £80, BUY HERE

4. This navy jacket has had good reviews and a few buyers have mentioned it’s good for travelling as it doesn’t crease. It’s a neat fit so again you might need to size up: BUY HERE

5. Last but not least, reduced from £249 is this feminine, peplum jacket with a  cute peter pan collar from L.K. Bennett. I love the shape and perfect for petites. It’s a polyester blend and again, although care instructions say ‘dry clean’ I’d pop it on a low heat delicate cycle : BUY HERE
