1. Get the right hangers!

These are more pricey than some available on the market, but buy the best you can afford. Besides, you can’t put a price on giving your clothes the best care they deserve. Treat your clothes like you would your friends, give them the care and attention they deserve and they will continue to be there for you.
Velvet hangers work well for most items including your blouses, dresses and shirts and some items of knitwear. Although, with some lightweight or delicate knitted items, they maybe best folded or hung in a specific way as this video shows on the hangers linked below: Watch this reel
The clips work wonders for skirts, shorts, trousers to avoid creasing down the leg as if you’re anything like me, you want to avoid ironing at all costs! Even some accessories like hats, scarves etc. work well clipped.
These flock hangers are narrower than wooden hangers, so if space in your wardrobe/closet is an issue, you might prefer these over wooden hangers.
Order them in the same colour and get rid of broken, cheap and ugly hangers. The worst culprits are the thin metal dry-cleaning hangers which are the work of the devil!

I use these bags for practically every wash. The smallest bags for lingerie, such as bras and knickers and the other bags for any delicate items such as embroidered items, silk, knitwear, scarves. In fact, any items that you don’t want pummelled to within an inch of its life. I would also suggest using the delicate, hand wash or low temperature cycle with a good quality non-biological detergent, something like ‘Dreft’ for delicates and wools works a treat.
