Zoom in on your make-up (for the over forties)
There’s a great deal of research into why wearing make-up can be so positive for women. Right now, when we may be feeling somewhat discombobulated from the lockdown, it is more important than ever. In 2017, researchers from the University of Chieti, Italy, and the Harvard Medical School conducted a study into the effects that wearing make-up can have. They found that it made women feel smarter and enhanced their confidence, positivity and self-esteem.
I definitely feel that there are many positive benefits to wearing a little bit of make-up, even if it’s just a bit of lippy and blusher. It’s not a question of not bothering because no one (apart from those with you at home) can see you, it’s about what it does for YOU in terms of how it makes YOU feel and look.
And so I am putting together a 90-minute make-up tutorial workshop which will look at applying make-up for the over forties. As we get older, it’s good to know how to meet the challenge of applying make-up to ageing skin. I don’t want the list below to deflate you in any way, but here are some of the issues faced by many of my clients which I will be addressing:
Skin: texture, plumpness, pigmentation, age spots, rosacea, enlarged pores
Eye area: loss of definition of the eye brows, hooded and crepey lids, red and thinner skin, greying and thinning eyelashes and eyebrows
Lips: Loss of elasticity, causing bleeding around lips and thinning
I will be joining up with my sister, Rakhi, a brilliant Bobbi Brown make-up artist, who will do demos on me and we’ll talk through all the above with you.
The session will take place via ZOOM
Cost: £35 per person, limited to 10 places per workshop
Duration: 90 minutes
Hope to see you at this workshop and here’s a video I put together on my make-up routine: https://youtu.be/Kwk34x5lRbo
